Lexington-Richland 5 Names New Public Information Specialist

Katrina Goggins, a communications coordinator from Orangeburg, will serve as District 5's new public information specialist.

Katrina Goggins, a communications coordinator from Orangeburg, has been named the new public information specialist for Lexington-Richland 5.

Goggins has more than 10 years of journalism experience and has worked for a number of media outlets in Columbia including The State, the South Carolina Radio Network and The Associated Press, according to a news release.

“We are very fortunate to add Katrina to our team," Mark Bounds, the district’s public information officer said. "She brings a wealth of experience and talent to this important position.”

Goggins has a bachelor's degree in English from Clemson University and attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina.   

Goggins said, “I am honored to be the new public information specialist for the district and look forward to getting the word out about all the district is doing to deliver quality education to its students.”
