Deputies: Man Tried to Expose Himself to Irmo Middle School Girls

Deputies say the incident happened around 3:43 p.m. Tuesday.

Lexington County deputies are looking for a man they say made sexual gestures and tried to expose himself to female students who were leaving Irmo Middle School Tuesday.

A school crossing guard told deputies that the man was standing against a fence at the perimeter of Irmo Middle School around 3:43 p.m. with his shirt open, according to the sheriff's department. The man's blue jeans appeared to be unzipped and he was touching himself inappropriately.

Several parents told the crossing guard that the man was making inappropriate comments to girls as they walked toward Quail Valley Plaza shopping center, according to the sheriff's department. The crossing guard then alerted a Lexington County Sheriff's deputy who works as a school resource officer at Irmo Middle.

The man was 6-feet tall and was between the ages of 20 and 30, according to the sheriff's department. He had a thin build and dark hair, and was wearing blue jeans, a loosely-fit white shirt and a blue-and-white baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the indecent exposure incident or the man
who was involved in the incident should contact the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at 803-785-8230 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
