Boil Water Advisory Repealed for Chapin Area

Residents north of Murray Lindler Road and Old Lexington Highway including the town of Chapin no longer need to boil their water before use.

A boil water advisory issued for residents in the Chapin area after a 12-inch water main break Thursday afternoon has been repealed, the City of Columbia Water Works announced Friday. Residents north of Murray Lindler Road and Old Lexington Highway including the town of Chapin no longer need to boil their water before use.

Updated: Boil Water Advisory Issued for Chapin Residents

Residents should boil their water before drinking or cooking.

Updated, 6:07 p.m.: A boil water advisory has been issued for residents north of Murray Lindler Road and Old Lexington Highway including the town of Chapin after a 12-inch water main break Thursday afternoon. Any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.  All customers in the Chapin area can expect to experience water pressure issues.  The City of Columbia Water Works is working to fix the water main break. Boil Water Advisory Issued for Irmo, Chapin Neighborhoods

The city has issued a boil water advisory for residents of several subdivisions in the area.

Some residents in the Irmo and Chapin areas should boil their water before drinking or cooking, the City of Columbia announced Wednesday morning. The city issued an advisory for the residents of Brookstone Subdivision, Rolling Creek Subdivision, Wescott Ridge Subdivision, Courtyard Subdivision, Ashford Subdivision, and Waterfall Subdivision, bounded by Shady Grove Road, West Shady Grove Road, Broad River Road, and Mount Vernon Church Road.  A 12-inch water main break in the area could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water, according to a press release from the city. Boil Water Alert Issued for Whitwood Circle Repealed

Residents no longer need to boil their water before drinking or cooking.

A boil water advisory issued for Whitwood Circle off Tawny Branch Road has been repealed.  Residents no longer need to boil their water before drinking or cooking. Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works, a release said. The results of the sampling indicate that the system is safe for use.  If you have questions, call the City of Columbia Water Works at 733-8336 or 781-2181.

Quail Valley Boil Water Alert Lifted

A boil water advisory issued Wednesday for residents in part of Quail Valley has been lifted.

The boil water advisory issued for the Quail Valley area near Harbison has been lifted.  Residents no longer have to boil water for use after Columbia Water Works crews fixed an 8-inch water line break. The area under the alert included water customers of Brandywine Drive, Quail Valley East from Brandywine Drive to Quail Valley West, Quail Valley West from Deer Trail to Quail Valley East, Beaver Dam Road from Deer Trail to Railfence Drive, and Railfence Drive.  Officials said bacteriological samples collected and analyzed after an intense flushing of the distribution system indicate the water is safe to use for drinking and cooking. Residents no longer have to boil water before use.

A boil water advisory issued Wednesday for the Ascot subdivision in Irmo has been repealed. Water customers of the Ascot Subdivision between Kennerly Road and Hollingshed located in Lexington County no longer need to boil their water before drinking or cooking. Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works, according to a release. Ascot Subdivision Under Boil Water Advisory

Residents living in Ascot between Kennerly Road and Hollingshed Road should boil water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking.

The City of Columbia Water Works is advising customers in part of the Ascot Subdivision in Richland County to boil their water before use after a 12-inch water line break Wednesday. Residents living in Ascot between Kennerly Road and Hollingshed Road should boil water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking.  Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking. Boil Water Advisory Issued in Chapin

A boil water advisory was issued Thursday for residents in the Crystal Lake Drive area of Chapin after a water main break.

A water main break has caused the Town of Chapin to issue a boil water advisory for the Crystal Lake Drive area. he town issued the advisory for all Amick's Ferry Water System customers in the Crystal Lake Drive area, including Paradise Cove and Reserve of Lake Murray, according to the town's website.  Residents are urged to vigorously boil water at least one full minute before drinking or cooking. The boil water advisory will continue until satisfactory sample results have been obtained, according to the site.
