Best of Patch: Grocery Stores

Best of Patch Winner: D. L. McLaughlin's Tops Best French Fries Contest

D. L. McLaughlin's voted best place for french fries.

In the quest to find the restaurant that sells the best french friends, readers chose D. L. McLaughlin's Restaurant in Irmo.  With 42 percent of the votes in Patch's latest Best of Patch contest, D. L. McLaughlin's wins ahead of Five Guys and Chick-fil-A, both of which received 28 percent of the votes.  D. L. Mclaughlin's serves everything from cheesesteaks, hot dogs, burgers and wings.  Feel free to leave a review of these restaurants in our local directory.  Next week, Patch is looking for the "Best Grocery Store." The voting begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.

Best of Patch: French Fries

Vote for the best french fries in Irmo-Seven Oaks.

Pommes Frites. Chips. Frieten. French Fries. Whatever they’re called, just about everybody likes them. Much like last week’s “Best of” contest where readers named their favorite place for coffee, this week we want to know where to find the best  —  French Fries and all of their many varieties. There are steak fries, curly fries, crinkle-cut fries, not to mention all the condiments and seasoning that make to delicious to resist. Around town there is no shortage of places to get fries just the way you like them. Best of Winner: Starbucks Voted Best Cup of Coffee

Starbucks is voted the best place to get a cup of Joe

In our latest "Best of Patch" contest, those participating in the poll voted Starbucks as the best place to get a cup of coffee. Starbucks received 75 percent of the votes with Bruegger's Bagels coming in second with 25 percent of the votes. Starbucks has two locations in the Irmo-Seven Oaks area, one on Harbison Boulevard and on inside Columbiana Centre.  Next week, Patch is looking for the "Best French Fries." Where's the best place to get that spot out of your favorite shirt or to get your laundry cleaned and pressed?  Patch readers who voted in our "Best of Patch: Dry Cleaning"  say Lexington Dry Cleaning and Laundry Services is the best place in the Irmo-Seven Oaks area.  Lexington Dry Cleaning received 50 percent of the votes. Best of Winner: Miyo's

Miyo's won the Patch "Best of" Valentine contest.

In our inaugural "Best of Patch" contest, Miyo's won for the best place to take your Valentine. With 66 percent of the votes, the restaurant known for finest Asian cuisine beat Yamato which had 33 percent of the votes.  Miyo's has seven locations in the Midlands, including M.Cafe on Sumter Street and M.Vista on Lady Street in Columbia. There's no special for Valentine's Day. Next week, Patch is looking for the "Best in Dry Cleaning." The voting begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
