The Lexington County Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, repair, design and construction of county-owned roads, maintenance of street signs and county rights-of-way in unincorporated areas and managing and maintaining the county's storm water and drainage systems. Nine maintenance crews perform the required maintenance of the roads and drainage. There are four geographical crews, two drainage crews, two special projects crews and one asphalt maintenance crew.
