The Irmo Fire District, located behind the Bi-Lo grocery store on Saint Andrews Road, houses the administrative offices of the station and a multimedia conference room for training. The station also acts as an Emergency Operations Center for natural disasters. This station is a participant of the Child Safety Seat Fitting Station program and is one of several locations in the area for parents to get their child’s seat checked. The staff includes 30 full-time employees and five part-time employees. This site opened in 2003, but the original operation was started in 1963.
