Lexington-Richland 5 held two ribbon cutting ceremonies Friday morning to showcase the newly renovated Seven Oaks and Leaphart elementary schools.
The renovations were a part of a bond referendum that voters passed in 2008 for the district to renovate seven schools and construct three new schools.
At Seven Oaks, a new kindergarten wing was constructed and the administrative office got a new facelift among other renovations.
Those who attended Leaphart's ceremony was able to see the school's new office area, computer lab, media center, theatre, cafeteria and gym.
Both ceremonies included musical performances by students. At Seven Oaks, Mrs. Floride Caulder's third grade class and Ms. Jenny Hammonds fourth grade class performed "Stay Strong, Oh Walls."
The Leaphart School Chorus performed a Veterans Day tribute.
