A Lexington teen was arrested for allegedly breaking into three motor vehicles parked outside two homes near Irmo.
Deputies arrested Jake Alexander Micol, 17, on June 29 on three counts of breaking into a motor vehicle.
An arrest warrant alleges that on June 29 Micol stole a Magellan Global Positioning System (GPS) device; a green visor and a pair of sunglasses; and a bottle of prescription medication and a pair of women’s shoes from three unlocked vehicles outside homes on Sharebrook Lane.
Deputies later recovered the items from a vehicle that Micol was driving after the sheriff's department received a tip from a resident that saw Micol entering the vehicles.
The witness provided a description of the sedan Micol was driving and the license plate number.
Deputy Wade Newberry found the sedan parked near a home on Carriage Hill Drive near Lexington and arrested Micol, Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said.
Micol was released on Monday from the Lexington County Detention Center after posting bail totaling $15,000.
