We are coming down to the wire in the race for Lexington County Council. Cory Norris is opposing Johnny Jeffcoat the District 6. These two individuals have some things in common, but offer a contrast in their approach to government.
Both are committed to making Lexington County a better place to live and to raise families. Cory is a firm advocate of smaller government and lower taxes. He is raising a family and has three young daughters that he and his wife desire to enter adulthood in a few years in an environment of personal liberty devoid of intrusive government.
As a member of the county council, Cory will oppose new taxes or fees of any kind. He will advocate practices which make better use of existing tax revenues. He is a strong proponent of efficiency in government. Cory works in the private sector and has a strong belief that each dollar spent should produce the highest possible return.
His opponent is a public sector employee who earns a salary much higher than he would command if doing the same work in the private sector. That seemingly causes him to have a somewhat different perspective on spending than Cory. Cory has a history of community involvement. He served as a member of Lexington County Sheriff James Mett’s Advisory Council and has demonstrated his interest in a safe, crime-free community.
He wants to go forward with plans to encourage private business development that can flourish and create jobs. Cory and his wife make God the cornerstone of their lives and firmly believe that our basic rights come from our maker and are not to be infringe upon. My vote will be cast for Cory Norris and I sincerely hope others will consider the facts and vote accordingly.
