Submitted by the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Center is calling area photographers to submit their favorite pictures of people, places and events in Chapin for its first ever What I Love About Chapin! Amateur Photography Contest.

“We enjoy a variety of beautiful locations in our community, from quaint Beaufort Street to beautiful farm vistas and of course, fabulous Lake Murray,” explained Chamber Executive Director Karen Owens. “For a small town we have a lot of activity, between our award-winning schools, bustling recreational opportunities through Crooked Creek Park and the more serene offerings at Dreher Island State Park. I am excited to see what subjects people submit and look forward to sharing those photos in a 2014 calendar that we will make available to area residents and visitors.”

Entries will be judged by a panel of professional and amateur photographers, and the winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Gala on November 8, 2013. There is a $5 entry fee for each submission.  Entry forms and contest rules are available at the Chamber and on its website – chapinchamber.com.

The deadline for entries is Friday, October 18. Entries may be dropped by or mailed to the Chamber, located at 302 Columbia Avenue in Chapin. The Chamber’s hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
