OUTSIDE COLUMBIA, SC -- Officers are looking for a man who recently robbed two Columbia-area stores while wearing a Spider-Man mask.
The masked man — along with another man — hit a Columbia dry cleaning business and a Lexington County computer repair store on June 11, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
The two men ran into Computer MD at 4468 St. Andrews Road around 11:35 a.m., took four laptops from the counter and ran away, according to an incident report.
Video surveillance shows the two men putting on disguises behind the store before entering, according to the report. One man was wearing the Spider-Man mask, and the other man tied a black bandanna around his face.
Hours later, the two men entered Columbia's Cleaners at 7400 Garner's Ferry Road and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register, according to the Columbia Police Department.
One of the men pushed an employee to the ground, according to police, but the employee wasn't injured.
Lexington County Sheriff's deputies say the two cases are related. The descriptions of the men in both incidents are very similar.
The man wearing the Spider-Man mask is described as a black male who was wearing a gray tank top, dark pants and white tennis shoes.
The other man is described as a black male who was wearing a red or orange hoodie, black shorts and black socks with white tennis shoes. The hoodie had the number 81 written in white letters on the back.
