Lexington Medical Center's video to raise awareness about breast cancer appears to be cruising to a second victory in the Pink Glove Dance Competition, with nearly 14,000 votes as the contest enters its final week.

Lexington Medical is competing against more than 260 healthcare organizations for a grand prize of $10,000 for a breast cancer charity of their choice.

As of 8 p.m. Sunday, Lexington Medical Center led all other organizations by a wide margin, with the next-closest competitor nearly 5,000 votes away.

When voting in the competition started Oct. 12, the Pink Glove Dance website experienced technical difficulties due to the overwhelming number of people trying to vote.

Last year, Lexington Medical Center's video took home the winning title with more than 60,000 likes.

Voting for the 2012 Pink Glove Dance contest was extended to run through Nov. 2. The winner will be announced Nov. 9.

To vote, go to pinkglovedance.com and click the Facebook like button for Lexington Medical Center's video. You need a Facebook account to vote, and may only vote once.

The contest is sponsored by the medical supplies manurfacturing company Medline. One of the company's products is pink gloves called "Generation Pink." The gloves were designed to get people talking about breast cancer, and are used in the video entries. For every case of pink gloves purchased, Medline donates a dollar to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
