Filing for three at-large seats on Lexington-Richland 5's school board will open Aug. 1. The seats will be on the ballot in November.
Filing for the seats in both Lexington and Richland counties will be open at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. The last day to file is on Aug. 15 at 12 p.m.
The terms are for four years on the seven-member board.
The seats up for election are currently filled by board members Jan Hammond, Robert Gantt and Beth Watson.
Individuals who wish to run for one of the two seats in Lexington County should file at the Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 605 West Main Street, Lexington.
In Richland County, individuals should file at the Richland County Administration Building (Elections and Voter Registration), 2020 Hampton Street, Columbia.
According to the Richland County Elections and Voter Registration Office, you must file the following:
- Statement of Intention of Candidacy-Nonpartisan form (Candidates should complete the form online, print, sign and bring it with you when filing.) Available here.
- State Ethics Commission Statement of Economic Interest (Must be filed electronically at http://ethics.sc.gov/.
You are required to present a hard copy of the Statement of Economic Interests form and a Statement of Intention of Candidacy form when filing.
