Update: Irmo Robbery Flimflam

The Irmo Police Department now says robbery is a flimflam, suspect still wanted.

 

Update, 4:20 p.m.: An incident that happend at a McDonald's on St. Andrews Road in Irmo is now considered flimflam or a deception.

Officers were dispatched to what was thought to be a strong armed robbery. 

Once on the scene, an officer determined that the suspect had conned a cashier out of some money. 

The suspect confused the cashier while trying to get change for a large bill and left with extra money. 

The Irmo Police Department is still investigating and looking for the suspect in the incident. 

The suspect is a black male, possibly in his 40s. He was wearing a white shirt, white shorts and white shoes.

The man is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hat with a "NY" emblem on the front.

The suspect fled on foot running toward the Kroger shopping center. 

If anyone sees the suspect, call the Irmo Police Department or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (1-888-274-6372).

Original, 4:18 p.m: The Irmo Police Department is looking for a man accused of robbing a McDonalds in Irmo.

A strong armed robbery happened at McDonalds located at 7417 St. Andrews Road near Lake Murray Boulevard, according to the Irmo Police Department.

The suspect is a black male, possibly in his 40s. He was wearing a white shirt, white shorts and white shoes.

The man is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hat with a "NY" emblem on the front.

The suspect fled on foot running toward the Kroger shopping center.

It means a deception. The story has been updated with more information. Police are still investigating.

Check out the movie "Paper Moon" with Ryan and Tatum O'Neil. Great movie, and they are "FlimFlam" artists. Tatum was still a kid at the time; it's an old movie.

I love Irmo been here for 20 yrs and not leaving anytime soon. Irmo police department will find him. Go Irmo get the scum out of here send them where they belong.
