According to a communications manager, the store's lease was expiring:
This store is one of the larger stores (in) our chain. During the past few years, Office Depot has been focused on improving the in-store shopping experience for our customers by remodeling stores to make them smaller (15,000 or 5,000 square feet), more intimate and easier to navigate. With the lease on this store expiring, we made the decision to close the store.

Unfortunately the closing of this store impacts about 14 associates. We are doing everything we can to help our associates by providing eligible associates with a severance package including outplacement services and other company subsidized benefits. We also work with our associates to identify open opportunities in our neighboring stores or in other areas within the company.
Everything in the store is up to 30 percent off and all sales are final. That's pens, paper, ink, DVDs or office chairs.
